I have THINGS for you, my beloved friendslist!! (As well as others, since I am leaving this public because I HAVE OPINIONS DAMNIT)
Firstly,
A fairly awesome speech about abortion funding in American. If you don't want to watch the whole thing, just listen to 6.18 to the end. It will make you smile if nothing else.
Secondly, a
great pro-choice parody of See Lo Green's "Forget You" by some awesome girl. Again, if you don't want to listen (which you should, it is absolutely fantastic quality and the singers has a really good voice, as well as an excellent message!) then I'll post the lines that made me stop and thinks: "Don't force us to be Mamas, 'cause you never force the boys to be Dads." In all my OPINIONS about abortion and being pro-choice, I don't think I've ever
ever realised that before. So I'm feeling pretty daft right now.
Basically, the
Tumblr of the girl who made that recording is just some excellent reading. (A few pages back there is something about Lara Logan, and I've got a metric tonne of other tabs I'm reading with info gathered from there)
I'm very absorbed in all of this right now. I am extremely pro-choice and always have been, so the state of things in parts the USA at the moment is really keeping me focused on politics there.
(In terms of politics, of course what is happening in Libya is entirely abhorrant. I don't understand it very well so I don't have a very strong grasp on how I feel about it all right now, not until I find the time to read up on it more...)
